Summer Lip Favorites

Happy Summer!

Okay, it’s not officially summer yet, but in South Florida it feels like summer is just about here. And the fact that I just got out of school doesn’t help either.

And what better way to celebrate summer then some summer Lippies?

I had heard so much about Colourpop and I’ve always wanted to try it, but I had no solid motivation to do it until I got my Kylie Lip Kit and heard it was a very similar formula to Colourpop’s matte liquid Lipsticks. I figured I owed it to myself to try them out and compare them. I finally broke down and bought a few. I bought RAYEzor and Lumiere for the Lippie Stix, StingRAYE and Lumiere II in the Matte Liquid Lipstick and Echo Park in the Satin Liquid Lip Stick.

The Liquid Lipsticks are a bit drying, but not nearly as bad as the Kylie Kit. Besides that, all the Colourpops have the staying power of Gorilla Glue. I wore RAYEzor to Sunfest, a music festival in Palm Beach, and stayed on my lips for over 7 hours with only one touch up! I was eating, drinking, and sweating like crazy and that sucker was ON THERE.

I’m not usually a big fan of nude tones, ever since the days of Concealer lips via my sister in the 90’s-early 2000’s. However, these shades are so fun and light that I felt, in honor of my new blog, I’d try them for the summer. These aren’t so nude that you feel like you have no lips, but (excluding StingRAYE,) they are natural enough that I feel ready for summer. StingRAYE was my guilty pleasure in the guise of “trying their darker formulas.”

On the higher end of cosmetics, Tarte is quickly becoming my favorite makeup brand. I fell in love with their Rainforest of The Sea collection (that Beach Bum and Happy are from,)and then saw VIP and couldn’t resist. VIP actually has both a lipstick and a matching gloss all in one tube! I just thought that was so neat. And they are so nice and moisturizing!

These, again, are nice neutral colors (for me anyway) that would look so fresh during the summer months while you’re trapped inside the AC by the cruel heat of the summer.

Well, I’m still figuring out how I want to do this, but that’s all I’ve got for today! I hope these suggestions help you and I hope you have an amazing day!!
